Are there crutches for the undead?

Well, I’m not dead, which is good, because my foot is still killing me, and I’d hate for someone to perform some weird occult ceremony on my corpse to turn me into a member of the walking dead if I wouldn’t have the ability to walk. The other zombies would laugh at me in their mumbling way, and sure, most people would think it was moaning, but I’d know the truth, and I bet the truth would hurt.

I broke down and bought some DVDs today – Dude, Where’s My Car? will never disappoint, because it is exactly what it claims to be. I haven’t gotten to the special features yet, but hey, it looks like there are some, so good for me. I also (finally) bought the Simpsons first season, which I haven’t watched yet, but I’m already a bit upset with – I was hoping it’d be a single disc, 2 at the most, so I could just leave it in the player for whenever I wanted some background noise. Turns out it’s three discs, which means 4 episodes at a time. Still better than rewinding, but now I want some crazy DVD jukebox thing more than ever. Both purchases were used, by the way. I’ve no idea who gets cut out of the transaction when I buy used stuff, but the odds are good that it’s someone I don’t like, so take that!

I thought I’d bought a Mac on eBay, but it seems like I might have been mistaken. This isn’t your usual tale of eBay fraud or scammage, because despite my best efforts I can’t get the money to the guy. It’s like he doesn’t want money, and what kind of business is that? It’s good money! Honest! I need this transaction to go through so I won’t fool myself into thinking I can afford a more expensive new Mac. Then I can use the leftover money that I don’t have to take advantage of AngelA’s dwindling eligibility for academic software pricing. My brain does strange things sometimes.

On the newsletter front, it’s been out for almost two weeks, and so far we’ve defended ourselves successfully against one “you messed this up” complaint and we haven’t acknowledged a single error! 1-0! Whoo-hoo! Of course, that’ll change when someone figures out we spelled “vegetarian” wrong… Oops.

Finally (in more than one sense), Reality Sandwiches closes down today, which means that my posting of the link is a symptom of deep denial. Deep denial! Does anyone have any suggestions for the Link-o-Rama spot? Maybe I should advertise it on eBay…
